Marcos Van Rafelghem
Marcos Van Rafelghem graduated with a degree in Law from the University of Buenos Aires and obtained a Master of Business Law from Monash University, Australia. He has worked in Hong Kong, France and Argentina.


In Argentina he worked at Ford Motors in the Legal Affairs Department (2001-2003), providing internal legal advice on commercial contracts, disputes with dealers, suppliers and customers, and intellectual property matters. Mr. Van Rafelghem was also an Associate Lawyer with the Argentine firm Brons & Salas (2003-2004) where he represented national and foreign clients in litigations, mediations and negotiations regarding labor matters.

In Hong Kong Mr. Van Rafelghem worked as a Legal Consultant and Researcher with Civic Exchange (2005-2007), a prestigious public policy think tank, where he undertook research on issues linked to the environment, renewable energy and the economy. He integrated multidisciplinary research teams to produce a comparative analysis of public policies from the European Union and the United States, with the objective of developing policy options and recommendations for Hong Kong. Also in Hong Kong, he worked as a Consultant at Apco Worldwide, where he produced a market research report commissioned by the Hong Kong Government on the Brazilian economy, to assist with the HK Government’s investment promotion strategy addressed at Brazil.

Finally, Mr. Van Rafelghem undertook an internship with the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris, where he learned about disputes between Latin American parties and foreign investors. In 2007 he returned to Argentina to set up VAN RAFELGHEM | Attorneys at law.
